The primary goal of the Spanish Conquistadors in the New World was to explore and conquer territories to acquire wealth, land, and resources for Spain. Motivated by the pursuit of gold, silver, and other riches, they sought to expand the Spanish Empire and spread Christianity among indigenous populations. The conquest of the Aztecs and Incas exemplified these ambitions, resulting in vast wealth flowing back to Spain and significant territorial gains in the Americas. The Conquistadors' expeditions, however, also led to the devastation of native cultures, the spread of disease, and consequences that shaped colonialism and interactions between Europe and the indigenous peoples.
