The Mexican Revolution, which began in 1910 and lasted into the 1920s, significantly impacted land reforms in the early 20th century. The revolution sought to address the deep-seated issues of land inequality and exploitation by large landowners. One of the major outcomes was the implementation of agrarian reforms through the 1917 Constitution, which included provisions for land redistribution to peasants and ejidos (communal lands). This aimed to dismantle the hacienda system and improve the livelihoods of the rural poor. Despite challenges and inconsistencies in enforcement, these reforms laid the groundwork for future agrarian movements and set a precedent for land rights in Mexico.
